This workshop is a comprehensive learning and shooting experience for photographers eager to learn about and practice using studio strobes (flash units with modifiers) with live models. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome to attend.  You will get real hands-on experience with an array of professional lighting equipment, and work with a professional model to greatly enhance your portfolio.  You will learn valuable skills for creating your own lighting using studio gear, and how to achieve certain looks for portraiture, beauty, and fashion.

Skills transfer is a cornerstone of this event.  This is not just a chance to make great photographs, but to learn the skills for yourself.

The workshop is on November 27th from 11am-5pm at Studio 311, organized by James Ogilvie. Tickets are $249, which includes the cost of setting up a full studio shoot (rental of space, gear, hiring of models/makeup artists/assistant, etc) as well as the transfer of skills.

Things you should bring to the workshop:

– A DSLR or mirrorless camera that has ‘M’ (manual mode) and has a hot shoe on top

– At least one lens of at least 35mm focal length.  Longer lenses up to 150mm will also be useful
