The Ontario Line through Toronto Danforth area, including Riverside, is a project planned by the Ontario Government and Metrolinx. The plan consists of subway trains running above ground along existing railway track right-of-way from Gerrard Street to Eastern Avenue.

The rail line upgrades will mean expanding the current three tracks to six tracks – Gerrard, Carlaw, Logan, Dundas, Queen, and Eastern – will need to be re-built and widened. The subway trains will run every 45 seconds. This is in addition to the existing new GO Train tracks with GO trains passing through every few minutes.
