Riverside Roots – Doors Open Toronto Tours

Discover the hidden stories of one of Toronto’s oldest and most industrious neighbourhoods, nestled just east of the Don Valley.

Journey through lanes, sidewalks and parks to uncover Indigenous connections and natural ties to the Don River, depicted by vibrant murals and whimsical sculptures created by local artists.

Delve into Riverside’s vibrant sports history, including the original site of the Toronto Baseball Grounds at Riverside Common, and notable curling and cycling landmarks.

Gain insights into the unique architecture and symbolic significance of local landmarks such as Joel Weeks Park, The Broadview Hotel, The Opera House and the Queen Garden Centre.

This tour has been developed by the Riverside BIA. and is part of the Doors Open Toronto Tours 2024 programme

Walk takes place on flat, sidewalk terrain. Distance is approximately 1,700 metres.
