Change is in the Air in Riverside – Fall 2019

Since our last “Change is in the Air in Riverside” post a couple of months ago a lot has happened! Riverside is ready for the cooler weather with so many and exciting changes!

We welcomed a couple of new businesses and there were local shops moving around in the neighbourhood. So, come along and check them up!!

Pizzaiolo | NOW AT 722 Queen St. E. – Pizzaiolo is another shop that moved within the area, previously at 698 Queen St. E., between Eastbound and Prohibition Gastrohouse, Pizzaiolo now is just east of Broadview Ave. right next to Riverside Market with an all-new updated atmosphere!

Broadview Bakery | 728 Queen St. E. – After so many years, 30, to be exact, Broadview Bakery is saying goodbye to Riverside on Sept 20th and we’re sad to see it goes and wish all the best for the future! Now, Riverside looks forward to knowing what comes up next!

ēst Restaurant | 729 Queen St. E. – ēst Restaurant, pronounced “east”, has fully opened in September and is now taking reservations for October! ‘ēst is Riverside’s new tasting menu restaurant, a delicious and perfectly-plated 6-course menu. There are traditional and vegan options and seats must be booked in advance.

Meanbao | 753 Queen St. E. – A space that had sat vacant for some months since vacated by Caribbean Sunset is now home to Meanbao which is moving from its Leslieville location at Carlaw. Stop by for delicious bao and dumpling! Meanbao Riverside

Common Sort | NOW AT 760 Queen St. E. – Beloved consignment store, a Buy-Sell-Trade fashion retailer here in Toronto, moved a block west on Queen street from their old location.

BRIKA | 768 Queen St. E. – Earlier in August, we had to say farewell to the craft store, BRIKA. They closed their Riverside location, and we’ll sure miss their delicate, cute and creative finds!

M’eat Resto Butcher | 806 Queen Street East – M’eat has just closed its doors at the end of September. It’s sad to see them go, they smoked some great meat that was brought to you the right way – with respect for the animals and the farmers who feed us. We’re sad to see you go and wish the all the best in the new endeavours!
