RIVERSIDE GOOD FOOD MARKET RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY , JUNE 1ST @ 2:45PM

Come and join us for the ribbon cutting ceremony to launch the Riverside Good Food Market at the corner of Queen St E & Saulter on Saturday, June 1st, at 2:45pm. As part of the Eats & Beats in Riverside Street Fest, local eateries will be opening their doors for mouthwatering tasting plates and live music entertainment along with the 15th annual Riverdale Art Walk.

WHAT IS A GOOD FOOD MARKET?

Volunteer based, the Good Food Market is a great example of a successful community initiative in which people work together for the common goal of providing high quality, fresh, and affordable food to our neighborhood.  Fresh Produce is delivered on market day, and is available essentially at cost for community members.

WHO ARE THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS?

The Riverside Good Food Market is part of the Riverdale Food Working Group’s Good Food Market Hub project, and is led by community members such as:

  • Ralph Thornton Centre (RTC)
  • Toronto Community Housing Corp (TCHC)- Rivertowne
  • FoodShare Toronto
  • South Riverdale Community Health Centre (SRCHC)
  • The Mustard Seed
  • Riverside Business Improvement Area (BIA)

WHERE IS THE FOOD COMING FROM?

FoodShare Toronto is the supplier for the Riverside Good Food Market.  They deliver fresh,  affordable,  local,  and healthy fruits and vegetables on  market day.

WHEN WILL THE GOOD FOOD MARKET BE OPEN?

Starting on June 6th, the Riverside Good Food Market will be a weekly event- taking place  every Thursday from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the corner of Queen St E & Saulter –  providing the Riverside Community with fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the summer months.
