This week in our Riverside BIA We’re Growing blog series, we have Chi Junky!
Built on a powerful story of personal transformation and self-healing, Chi Junky at 70 McGee St is more than just a wellness studio in Toronto’s Riverside neighbourhood. It’s a place where movement, mindfulness and community come together.
After an injury put a halt to her dance career in New York, Rachelle Wintzen found another calling, one that took her out of the bustle of the Big Apple and into the calm of Toronto’s East End. Embracing a healthier lifestyle and finding renewed passion as a yoga instructor and nutritionist, Rachelle started Chi Junky in 2014.
Designed to make your wellness journey as effortless and stress-free as possible, Chi Junky takes care of the little things. Mats, towels, props and water are all provided — all you have to do is show up.
Chi Junky offers a diverse lineup of movement classes to cater to a broad audience, ranging from ELDOAs, pilates and flow-style classes to soundbaths, dance cardio and high energy workouts. There’s something for every body, every age and every fitness level.
For Rachelle, opening Chi Junky in Riverside was a natural choice. Having grown up here, it was a homecoming of sorts. Although Riverside has changed drastically, Rachelle maintains that the neighbourhood still has the same charm that it did years ago.
