Dimensions Custom Framing and Gallery
Expect to be inspired when you take your artwork in for framing at Dimensions Custom Framing and Gallery in Riverside.
Not only is Dimensions more down to earth and budget-friendly than one might assume, but you’re also guaranteed to walk out with a truly unique frame perfectly designed to accentuate your art.
“We frame for the piece not for the surroundings,” explains artistic director Ellen Davidson who opened Dimensions circa 2000 with the ever so facile framer, Wendy Palmer.
That’s not to say Dimensions won’t consider your space, however, Ellen explains that at the end of the day it’s about capturing a moment, and a custom frame can transform an attractive piece into something astounding. Collect shells? Why not display them as a work of art on your wall. Book covers and tapestries also look fantastic in a frame.

“I love those clients that let me show them something different, someone who allows us to educate them and to see a different way of framing something that they didn’t anticipate,” says Ellen.
In addition to being a custom framing shop, Dimensions is also an expansive and expressive gallery featuring local artists specializing in all genres.

After a few years operating off the beaten track, Ellen and Wendy discovered Riverside, a neighbourhood with a charming businesses district and fabulous people. It wasn’t long before they set up shop in the hood.
“It’s a unique community,” says Ellen. “It’s not The Beach, it’s not Leslieville, it’s Riverside. We’re tiny yet we have a lot of spirit.”
