Get a Dance Lesson, Hear the Choir, and Rock Out at the festival’s Saulter St Closure!
Head on down to the Riverside Eats & Beats Streetfest’s Saulter Street Closure at Queen Street East on June 4th to enjoy a variety of music and dance! The Toronto English Country Dance Assembly (TECDA), will be kicking off the program on their home turf: they host weekly night classes at the Ralph Thornton Centre right next door at 765 Queen St E. The group will be demonstrating and teaching you “17th to 21st century pleasant and stylish dances”. From 1-2pm watch as the TECDA performs English Country Dance, followed by free instructional lessons to show you how!
Also on Saulter, you can find live music performances from the Children’s Vocalwork Choir along with the dynamic duo Dustin and Caleb.
The Children’s Vocalwork Choir will be at the Saulter Street closure from 2:00PM to 3:00PM to showcase their great array of vocal talent. Vocalwork is a nonprofit organization that awards students the opportunity to learn, practice and showcase their vocal instrument. They are the only music anchor that incorporates all vocal genres and is focused solely on the voice as a practiced instrument. Listen to popular and original tunes from these talented young people!
From 3:00PM to 5:30PM on Saulter, catch the local dynamic duo, Dustin and Caleb as they perform their crowd-pleasing blues, folk, and rock. ‘Dustin plays the guitar, Caleb does voice, mouth harp… and also guitar’. They’ve travelled all around southern Ontario playing and their music always impresses.
Some of the other awesome activities happening at the festival’s Saulter St closure:
