Change is In the Air in Riverside This Summer

Change is always in the Air in Riverside…check out some of the ins and outs on the go this summer, from the west side of the Riverside BIA to the east side.

  • Riverside Square implementation continues, with a focus on the south end of the site including the Downtown Automotive Group portion and condo buildings. Get an inside view of the site via UrbanToronto.
  • 686 Queen St E: Aft Kitchen & Bar is closed and the space is being transformed into a new restaurant with a new name
  • 709 Queen E: Brickworks Ciderhouse is working on finishing and licensing their second level back patio space
  • 714 Queen St E: Pizza Nova continues renovations for their new space at the northeast corner of Queen & Broadview – formerly Dangerous Dan’s Diner (did you know this corner once housed Toronto’s last newstand? Check it out in the Riverside Magazine Then & Now Article, pg 35)
  • 724 Queen St E: we are saying farewell to Empire by Bullet and Keep Me Posted as they will be moving on soon
  • 725 Queen St E:  formerly Boots & Bourbon, renovations are well-underway for Jasper Dandy, a new pub which will be opened 12pm-2am, with flexible spaces including sports bar/pub, party area and stage for live music.
  • 733 Queen St E: Silouette Tailoring is transitioning out of their long-time space next to The Opera House (they aren’t far at 253 Broadview) and Dresden Optics is coming in
  • 734 Queen St E: formerly MacFab Sews is being renovated for Comfy Beauty Nail Salon
  • 765 Queen St E: The Ralph Thornton Community Centre’s new elevator is now up and running, and the temporary ramps outdoors have been dismantled and removed this past week. Go check them out!
  • 782 Queen St E: The Peasant Table’s amazing new back patio space is now open, enjoy it while the weather is hot!
  • 806 Queen St E:  formerly Mazz Japanese Bistro, the space is being renovated to a resto-butcher shop called M’Eat.
  • TTC Track Repairs (Queen/Dundas): Phase 1 is underway of the City of Toronto and Toronto Transit Commission work on the aging TTC streetcar track on Broadview Avenue at the intersection of Dundas Street East and replacing track on Broadview between Dundas Street East and First Street. Restricted access on Broadview starting at Queen to Dundas will be ongoing until at least July 23rd. Queen Street East is fully open including the streetcar route, and everyone is open for business.
